LFS has American Alligators...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Kingsnake.com sells them and in Florida I hear you can get them for like $30. One of my local taxidermists has a baby and that thing went from 1' to 3' in like a year. It's in a custom made 500 gallon+ tank

He's giving it away when it reaches like 4'

Dwarf caimans are a much better choice. They are more expensive but only get to 4ft or so.

If I could get the import permits I would take one, but not for that price. Once they come in season they are easily $15 each online from breeders. And before anyone jumps on me about their care I already have 3 American Crocodiles, and 2 spectacled caimans so I have a very good idea what I would be dealing with. It is however always amusing and a little sad to see them in a simple pet store. I dont think something like that hsould be that easy to acquire, otherwise dumb people will buy them.

Went to this LFS again, they had a fairly large one in...
im guessing that some person couldn't take care of it anymore.

That's crazy. I live in central Florida. Gators are everywhere. I can't imagine trying to keep one. That's just cruel.
