(LFS)I can't believe this happened

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
but i bet aussy its cheaper to live...
so your 30k a year will get you alot further then 30k a year here.. correct me if im wrong

You're wrong. Due to economy of scale-we have what, a population of approx. 22 million- everything is cheaper in the US. Cars, gas, clothing, electronics etc.

Eg -- gas (petrol) over here is roughly $1.40 a litre- about $5.60 a gallon. Heard its alot cheaper over there. Clothing, say shoes and jeans, I've seen are approx 20-70% cheaper over there

i think the reason why we think gas is expensive is due to the constant price increase. but actaully gas does hurt our pockets here in the US. if sydney is more expensive then that's a rip off by those oil companies. if you'll compare california with new york the main difference (with regards to gas) is public transportation. in california specially where i live you wait for about 15 to 30 mins for a bus to come (depending on rush hour) and belive it or not in my area before 9pm their is no bus to go home. you would need to walk. that's why californians are forced to buy cars due to poor as in very poor public transportation. i was in new york for a couple for weeks (years ago) and their public transportation is way better. you can easily access cabs, bus and train. california.. you need to call for a cab in NY you just flag them down and if you're lucky someone will even share fare with you.:)

different places, different benefits....:)

at least ya'll can get aro's. Here in the middle of the lovely state of Georgia most people don't even know what arowanas are... much less that there are diffrent types. Most of the LFS around here don't know about aros, dats, doviis ... none. It's like talking to the wall when you mention those fish people just stare back

But that is what internet sales are for right?:naughty:

Hey aussienative, where did you get your peacock bass for $50 ?
I just bought 5 for $125 each and considered it a bargain! One ripoff merchant tried to sell them at $400 each (5 inch), and dropped them down to $320 when no one bought them.
Love to get some more if they were only $50

i didn't buy any.... they were at a place called wetpetz up here in bris

Yeah, but you got the kangaroos, heheh.
And better beer.

Ummm....you were being sarcastic right?

Paying four days wage (if his wage was $117 a day) to buy a fish that only cost you guys 20-50 bucks is not exactly cheap!

By the way, the average wage here is less than $45K US a year.

Oh, you mean it's not $117,000??

I thought that's what he meant by.
