What has gone downhill with Aquascape? Their service sucks and after a point I refused to do business there. I guess their quality of fish?

Didn't realize Elys was popular. It's like 10min from house and on my way to work. Great owner but I haven't notice anything amazing about stock. However I'm not the one to browse a ton. I go there for random fish stuff to support local vs big chain.

I have to agree aquascape looks like a war zone right now... every other tank is cracked floor feels like its caving in takes forever to get some help i have to say when they had this other kid running the store i think his name was matt it was great and that kid was very knowledgeable.... absolutely is really a saltwater store there freshwater stuff is ok i guess... i remember a looonnnng time ago when nutley pet was a great store jeez y is it so hard to find one good spot is it the web?

I think the hobby in general has taken a big hit over the years and maybe I am remembering wrong but I could swear there were a lot more dealers ~10 years ago. Someone told me that Aquascape got hurt when SA closed because they were sharing costs for importing fish. I also know that there was some major building issues related to roof collapse or something at Aquascape, of which I am guessing they did have not really recuperated from.

Kazmirs in hackensack is

It's funny to me that somebody here mentioned Kazimir's- that pet store was my first job when I was 14 years old. Not a huge selection or a fancy store by any means, but they do occasionally have rare fish, and have a pretty constant supply of nice FW shrimp, discus, and angels. They also recently started to do saltwater in the last year or two. Very nice family who runs the store as well.

K krichardson Nicole left a while ago. Lots of incompetent folks at the store, except her. She left shortly after I bought a 180g tank from there so I think about 1.5 years ago.

NJ stores aren't what they used to be. Absolutely Fish is probably the best store in the area. We cross into NY for the true gems; Monster, KHC, Kissena, Northern, Beitals, etc.

What has gone downhill with Aquascape?
To add to this: I haven't been back to the store since they gave me free fish lice with the catfish I bought...

It's a shame I thought after shark aquarium closed up that aquascape would have really stepped up and filled George's shoes but seems like it too will close its doors by the looks of it
