Keep in mind hydro static pressure works off of the height of the water column, not the length or width, weird huh.. so a 44" high tank will need a very thick piece of acrylic.

KKeightley Are you a renter? Assuming you are, I wouldn't mess around with non-standard methods of tank construction. If it catastrophically fails, I'd be worried about your legal position should the landlord come after you. I'd do glass or acrylic.
