where is this canal?

S.Florida .The office areas by 107 st before you begin to enter Tamiami canal stretch. If this gator would travel 6 blocks further into the Tamiami canals than regardless of size they wont trap him. As you travel few blocks south you see 6 ft plus basking.

However he is in last 2 block area in business area and 6 ft max rule in that areas. He was there before they put up the buildings and mini mall . We humans took over his home .

If he was in N.Florida he would be relocated as the North area is more into conservation but S.Florida politicians have no concept of this.

I think the six feet rule has something to do with a gator being dangerous to humans at six feet.
What's the different with a 5' 11" and a 6ft gator? They pose the same danger to public :D Probably those guys who passed that regulation were 5' 11", and they don't like anything that is bigger than them :D

6ft few inches . Well according to state trapper . Imagine they estimate .
Base on the size of the pipe, that gator could be 7ft easy! ;)

I was out in parking lot earlier looking for him but only saw the head . If I can get a pick near car,etc for size will do so.

He rarely basks so close to shore and he is in great shape as base of tail is fat . Could be a she we just assume at work its a he .

The storm drain pipe that he laid on, could be at least 6ft or 8ft diameter

i hope they manage to relocate the gator would be great if they saved him . her rather than destroying it

There are so many gators down on I 75/Alligator Alley it is pathetic, huge gators 8 or 9 foot are common. Killing the larger gators that are living amongst the homes or businesses is not going to hurt anything.

They harvest the meat and the skin, it does not go to waste.
