Lonely Oscar...75 stocking

Agree that the Oscar may just be in a transition stage due to the new home. If you decide you want some "friends" for him...you could throw in some "dither" fish. Tiger-barbs or Tin-Foil barbs.

FYI...I do have an Oscar and a Green-Terror in a 75...and they get along great. But with agressive fish...you never know with individual personalities.

I actually had my pair of calico convicts with him and was doing good till I moved them. So I honestly think its cause he's used to having tank mates. I've read in the past that oscars get depressed if they are raised with tank mates and then moved alone.

Nice O.
I would either leave it alone or put 2-3 male convicts in.
Ive never had issues with cons and oscars together plus you dont have to worry about the cons outgrowing the tank or fighting with the O.

I can't view your pic attachment. says invalid.

Thanks I just moved my calico pair in with him. He's starting to slowly come around.

Get another Oscar for him perhaps albino tiger ? I had a pair of Oscars when I was younger they were great both grew to 12" had them for years , when one died the other became depressed and died few months later , they were in a 80 gal with a massive common plec

A pair of oscars need atleast a 125 gallon.

I think that's over the top 75 is fine for a pair with adequate filtration, dedicating 125 gallons of water to two oscars seems overkill to say the least

Well that's the rule of thumb. To be honest I would feel bad cramming two 12" oscars in a 4' tank.

I wouldn't say mine were crammed in at all they lived for years together in that tank , they were 9/10 yr old when they died
