Long question about Aro tank size...

We aren't saying it's right thing to do, putting an arowana in a small tank. If you have small arowana ATM then having a smaller than expxted tank is fine. During the many years that the arowana is alive, you can always upgrade. What I was mostly trying to opininate was that tank size isn't number 1 when it comes to raising fish.

I disagree, A fish, any sized fish should be raised in a tank that is appropiate for the size of the fish. So no fish should be cramed into an undersized tank until it's owner can save enough money to buy a proper sized tank.

This threat is ridiculous. It's like a gathering of irresponsible fish keepers. If you only have a small tank don't buy an arowana, they are too big. Your only posting here because deep down you know you are not providing your fish with adequate space but you want someone to tell you it's okay.
Some one please post a picture of these "healthy" arowana's in small tanks. They might be 15 yrs old but I bet they stop growing at 18".
My opinion on tank size is 96"x36" for a 30"-36" silver arowana and 72"x30" for a 20"-24" asian arowana.
These are what I consider as minimum size tanks for healthy adult arowana that actually grow to their potential.

A pond is for KOI IMO and I have no plans for one anytine soon... I live in New England an ARO would never survive the winter

You could do a indoor pond. They're rarily for koi (I have an indoor pond and I don't raise koi) You just need a DIY filter and a heating method.

So why can't i have answers here without the drama? I thought this was suppose to be a place for adults to talk about a common hobby?
