I disagree, A fish, any sized fish should be raised in a tank that is appropiate for the size of the fish. So no fish should be cramed into an undersized tank until it's owner can save enough money to buy a proper sized tank.

:grinno: iknow:naughty:

So you're saying you have to buy a huge tank right off the bat. I guess I gotta stop the hobby until I have my own house so I have room to put it and then raise those arowanas.

This threat is ridiculous. It's like a gathering of irresponsible fish keepers. If you only have a small tank don't buy an arowana, they are too big. Your only posting here because deep down you know you are not providing your fish with adequate space but you want someone to tell you it's okay.
Some one please post a picture of these "healthy" arowana's in small tanks. They might be 15 yrs old but I bet they stop growing at 18".
My opinion on tank size is 96"x36" for a 30"-36" silver arowana and 72"x30" for a 20"-24" asian arowana.
These are what I consider as minimum size tanks for healthy adult arowana that actually grow to their potential.

You have 3 RTGs in a 180 when you state that each should have their own 72x30. They're not fully grown yet but when they do, are you gonna buy a 72x30 for each or just one really big tank? If you're going to use the "I plan to upgrade in the future", then so can I. Who's to say whose word is more solid and who will stick to them?

Are you that naive? Do you ever comprehend anything you read?

"A fish, any sized fish should be raised in a tank that is appropriate for the size of the fish."

I was trying to be sarcastic but as it seems you don't comprehend sarcasm.

Oh no, I comprehend sarcasm quite well. Why did my post warrant sarcasm? Maybe because of your lack of comprehension? Hi lighted below was not sarcasm.

So why can't i have answers here without the drama? I thought this was suppose to be a place for adults to talk about a common hobby? I suppose anytime there are no limits on who can join a club you are bound to get child like idiots that want to do nothing but start trouble like you, yo have attacked several people in this thread. Now you say I am whinning like your sister, I know you are a internet tough guy and I feel dumber for even talking to you.
I know how to use google I had hoped that I could get some real life experiances here.
I am understand you are not important in real life and must be so here, so i will let you be the "man", you are right i whine like a girl but you do not have to converse with me ever again, this is the last time i will address you. Good luck on whatever you do and I hope you grow up some.

There is nothing adult about this thread, it's some thing a "younger" person would post because mom and dad wouldn't let them have a 240g tank or they don't have the funds. Which means they shouldn't have the fish.

Why are so many people always eager to contribute their two centavos and still end up stoking the flames?

Until the aro mods come here, the rest of us will simply have to deal with those who continue to contribute to the flamefest.

So you're going to tell me what I wrote, something that I personally processed through my brain isn't what I had written it to be. Ok. So not only do you know how to raise fish better than me, now you even know me better than myself! Look Brian, can I call you that? Let's just agree that we disagree. To all those people out there who have tanks smaller than what is standard for your fish, it's really simple. Don't tell other people. If you can go and buy a bigger tank, please do. If not, then don't speak about it. I have a 6.5 inch black arowana in a 180 and I have a 90x30x18 custom sometime in my future. Please Brian, can you tell me if I'm steering in the right direction? You must know, since I sure as heck don't.
