It was injured while he was catching it. They make tools for that for deep water fishing but if you shove a knife up its vent and cut its swim bladder clean open i doubt it has much chance of survival. Obviously he didnt intend for that to happen but i just chose it as an example. They also do a lot of videos with that rawfishing guy who did a "fish fight to the death in a plastic tub" video.
