Lunch time already:ROFL:

If the fry are the same size, only a day apart, do you think the parents would be able to distinguish between the fry.

hmmm honestly try it. Like being raised by a pack of wolves. Being raised by a pack of wolf cichlids.

I bet they would though. as long as you snuck them by them or something and threw them in the batch when they weren't looking.

I am surprised you are keeping other fish in a tank with breeding dovii. I thought that was the most aggressive fish possible. Congrats on great fishkeeping. And good luck with your fry.

you know what guys i might try this out of pure curiosity. i wanted a breeding pair of cons to use as feeders so if it doenst work im not going to be disappointed or anything.

and as far as other fish being in with them, i have moved the loaches but still have the senegal in there cause i dont have anywhere to put it.

haha ok so how do i mail fish>?

You'd actually put three of them in a bag, that makes 2 bags of 3. Go to the postoffice and mail them this way

Make sure there is something in there to keep them from any excess slopping and make sure to have a little extra goodies in the water to keep the ammonia under control.
This will cost approximately $25 to $30 to ship over night, but if you let me know in advance I'll be sure to sent that down there to cover cost. The bags are a breathable bag and I'm sure you could find one at a LFS. ;)

ya know what, if this is a successful batch, ill definately look into this.

IME, not even my 5 clown loaches and 3 BN plecs would eat cons eggs, even though the cons are very placid. If they had the chance they would of, but they just swam right by the wigglers and eggs without a second thought.

Dovii's get incresingly aggressive with age and size. At this age, they're just small fry, nothing aggressive. But near the 10" marl they start to be real buggers.

hope they are still there for tomorrow...
does another fish will eat the fry???

i think the female fish only eat their son..
