What's wrong with feeding by hand? I feed over 40 snakes a week by hand and haven't gotten tagged yet...

If he's not eating just give him time - young ball pythons are pretty notorious for being finicky feeders.

yea im not too fussed about him feeding, i no royals in general are a pain when it comes to feeding...untill he goess over 6 feeds then il get worried.
i left the mouse in over night and then chucked it yest morning. he was pretty possesive over it but not eating so i will try again in a couple of days.

and thanks everyone else for clearing up the mysteries of y we call them royals lol

We don't usually leave mice in with our snakes more than 2 hours...a lot of the ball pythons kill their mice then just guard them - don't ask me why.

Weird little guys, unfortunately when we get large numbers (we just recently had over 30 in the shop) a good amount of them die off due to starvation.

Yeah...be careful with how long you leave the mouse in there. There are ALOT of horror stories of a hungry mouse taking huge chunks out of a BP, sometimes even killing it.

Anyway...very nice BP you got there. Don't pay any mind to the negative comments....BP's are beautiful, interesting snakes. Also, check out www.ball-pythons.net if you haven't already. It is a very helpful site.

nice snakey, i'm currently setting up my viv not for a snake though, i've only been into reptiles the last 6 month, tropical fish, marine/reef tank, reptiles/herps is the next stage yea? After that I might just have a baby lol

You can leave the mouse in overnight if it is frozen thawed. I think it may be a dead mouse because she said she tried feeding it with tongs. Let the snake settle in and do not handle him until he eats. He looks great I wouldn't worry at all yet either.
