looking for a big passive fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive had bad luck in the past with puffers "getting along". Ended up giving my puffers to a friend. I think I'll go with the Oxydoras and a large pleco for sure. Everything else I have time to contemplate as Ive got several more months left here in Iraq before I can start this project but I'll be sure to run my ideas and designs by everyone as I go.

Did anyone suggest a Thai Blue Mahseer? They swim very fast and non-stop. Good mix of colours too with gold, black and blue pigments - mild temperament too. No sure if you can get these species easily in U.S.

how about 2 million exodons?

what about chocolate cichlids? ive heard they are pretty docile-and they have nice coloration.

i also love the peacock bass and arowana look..

I would not consider mbus in general to be even close to passive.

Hate to say it but i have had a few and they are incredibly peacefull in my experience, i wouldnt hessitate to get another if i had the tank for it.

Welcome home.

I might try a school of Tfoil brarbs as i have kept them up to 12 inces with neon tetras the display they make when schooling is awsome. They also go into a pirhanna like frenzy if you toss in head of lettuce, rather amusing to watch. However they won't go well in a planted tank, a fact I discovered the hard way:cry:. I have also kept flagtains and bala sharks with neons and not problems they did eat fish eggs but not other fish.
