Well it definitely isn't as common as 40 cal, 9mm, 45 ACP, etc....but a lot of places carry at least a box or two. My father has the same problem with 10mm. His solution: buy a box or 10 every time he comes across it. And it's always a good idea to hold on to your brass. Some time down the road you may consider reloading it if your wife enjoys shooting it at the range.

i plan on reloading, my buddy has all the shotgun reloading stuff and i plan to have the rifle/handgun reloading.

Para ordanance warthog 1911 .45cal holds 10+1 and shoots remarkable very little recoil for the power it produces and an extremely accurate gun only a 3" barrel. I highly recommend this gun!!!

i was looking into the 1911's but i think they might be a bit pricey for her first gun. granted i'll have full access to it, but i would like it to be hers. i was planning on getting all this info and then taking it with to have her hold each of the ideas so she can see what fits her comfertably.

that one is not bad and not a bad price aswell...i see a hint of flip flops in that last 'redneck' pick...lol

hmmm maybe she does have shoes on in that pic. still a nice gun and a great price!

ya, i just showed the pic of it to my wife and she said she liked how it looks. we'll see how it goes when she holds it, along side all the others. just want her to pic what feels right.

It will take awhile to get over the long trigger pull but it is possible. A few hundred 9mm rounds through it, and she will do just fine. 9mm is soooo freakin cheap too

agree 100% with the kel-tech p11 my wife and my daughter love theirs

I STRONGLY recommend Glocks. People argue more about different gun manufactures and calibers than we do about fish topics on here. There are hundreds of guns out there that are awesome and fun to shoot on a flat grassy gun range where you aren't fighting for your life. Glocks are the gun to use when you are looking for a gun that you are going to get into a gunfight with. That is what I carry on-duty and off and use for home defense. Your wife will not have to worry about turning a safety off or anything but point and shoot the bad guy. My wife who is 5'04" 100 pounds has a Glock model 30 .45 cal that she is dead accurate with. The gun holds 10 plus 1 in the chamber and is just heavy enough to handle the recoil. I would not give my wife anything else.

There is a lot of good and bad gun information out there that people swear by, but as a police officer/ SWAT Operator/ K9 handler who is on a violent felon task force I strongly recommend a Glock in .45 caliber. I also like .40 caliber as well. I have seen people fight thru being shot with .22, .38, .380, and 9mm. Recently one of my Sgts shot a suspect in the chest one time with a .45. It did not penetrate through, but destroyed every interanl organ in his chest area according to the Medical Examiner. He dropped where he stood and the good guys went home.

Forget the gun, just go for a freaking bazooka!
