Check out www.flexpvc.con they have all the fittings you'd need in the event your local hardware store doesnt.

Where is it going to be set up in the home or the garage ?

If it's going to be in the garage, I would do a closed loop bead filter. I have my 225g done this way and have been trouble free for many years.
Based on the holes in your tank, I suspect it was once a saltwater tank. Coral requires a certain flow.
Cheaper to stick with HomeDepot plumbing than aircraft NAS, MS grade stainless, aluminum, inco, ti or composite. Besides, I think they are poisonous to fish....haha

Check out the link
Maybe I should look into products like this
Since seeing this next to the tank won’t be a issues for me I have plenty of space on both side
Also I’m trying to keep all running cost as low as possible as in power usage and water changes
I don’t mind cleaning my tanks at all I do however try to control and keep down my water usage as much as I can
