Please don't tell this guy to put an Oscar into a 55-gallon aquarium. I suspect that whatever fish he gets will face plenty of challenges in its life without adding more by jamming it into such a small tank.
Truth.

Also..."this guy" wouldn't recommend that to his idiot friend for his GF to take care of. Just because I don't know the lil killers, doesn't mean I'm a moron...that's my friend...lol.... I've had tanks for 30+ years....jus started branching out lately and trying to help some people NOT do stupid SHIZZZ.... I can appreciate the thought though....lol.

I should have been clearer: "this guy" was referring to your friend. I was suggesting that you don't tell him to do it. I see now that it looked like I was talking to the other poster, telling him not to tell you to tell your friend...yeah, this isn't getting any clearer, is it? :)

Anyways, apologies...no offense intended. :)

What is the smallest aggressive freshwater predator fish with the smallest tank size requirement that would eat live food? or have that killer instinct?

No, I will not be putting a largemouth in a 5 gallon or something dumb...lol....

Like 30/55 is what I have to work with....for now....I am trying to learn about new species or ones that have slipped my mind.

It can be anything...store bought, online, or even locally caught (I'm in FL), etc. like bass, bluegill, warmouth, perch, mayans, tilapia, catfish, etc.

I am fairly knowedgeable about these species though, and am asking for suggestions that are outside the box....I would still like/take any of these suggestions as I am making a list (and have posted in the FB group as well) but, wanted to ask here for starters. Thanks in advance! Cheers!
Youre probably gonna hate me for this, but the fighting plakat bettas. The ones from shady websites that seem to know a LITTLE TOO much about the the exact attack patterns of their fish, which body part they were specifically bred to be strengthened and the entire emphasis on warriors and soldiers and brutal murderers.
Just sayin

What about like a wild pumpkinseed, not sure on size but I have have a hybrid with x green sunfish and he’s pretty agro biting everything that touches or is above the water ( he jumps) eating food as big as him, chases you around the tank, easy to get eating
