well headed into petsmart to get crickets and worms and was looking around while she got my crickets and something cought my eye i looked into the tank and saw thay had new catfish then OMG there pimelodus blochii !!! i immediately snaged one i cant believe petsmart had them i've looked so hard for them then petsmart gets them but not a bad price only 7.99$:naughty:

dude!!! i seen some at my local petsmart too, i was wanting to get one but i diddnt know much about the species, any general info on this guy? the tag said 12"max but where r these guys from and whatnot?
 
wow your petsmart had one thing right thay get about 12'' max people at mine said 6-8'' i told them how big thay really get but i don't think thay cared to much oh well
but there found in south america through out panama and surounding areas
keep the ph at around 6.8 thay like temps at mid to high 70s
and for feeding i've all ready experienced there appetite he ate blood worms till he swam around on his stomach and looked like he had eaten a rock man there fast too thay should be kept in large aquariums even when small this guy just shoots from cave to cave he also swims to the surface all the time to give you an idea of how fast thay are some of you may have kept there cousin the pictus catfish, pimelodus pictus well right now hes in with two of them and when food is in the tank he swims circle around them and can even steal worms out of there mouths
 
Nice pickup. I have been seeing those guys around a lot more lately.
 
There is 2 of them at this little fish store here. They've been there for months. Both are about... 6-7" I think they wanted 20$ each. nice looking catfish though
 
We just got them in, along with mono sebaes.
