If you want to help the jumping factor, get a descent sized tank, at least 75 gallons IMO.

Well one thing I have learned from this thread already is to tape or otherwise seal all gaps and holes in the tank cover and probably weight them for good measure. Seems like that will prevent at least half your possible losses right there.
