Exactly! i started out with a veil tail betta and it escalated from there.

It all started for me at 10 years old, mom bought a ten gallon and we filled it with guppies. It just grew from there, I remember in Highschool having 4 or 5 aquariums at the same time. As soon as I could save a few dollars I'd ride my bike to the LFS to see what I could buy. I fell in love with arowanas at first sight, still love the silvers and blacks
At 26 got married and had a beautiful baby girl and that became my life, a happy one at that. But I just didn't have time anymore and I just stopped having aquariums in the house. Fast forward to just 2 weeks ago, I discovered this website, needless to say I went from 0 to 3 aquariums in a week. 
My daughter is now 3 and half and has a aquarium of her own. I will be setting up a 180 galon in the next few months to house a silver aro, tiger shovel nose, clown knife and anything else that is big and mean!

I started with a 50 gal. first fish I bought was a clown knife He is like 12 or 13" now and resides in my 250 gal. Have 4 tanks now and have seriouse plans for 2 more!

It started when I was 14. A friend of mine had a large Clown Knife in his living room. Fel in love! I promised myself that I would get one one day. My Clown Knife (named BUDDY FISH) is my pride and joy.

I am not even joking.
There is one main category, then small diverse ones.
There are categories of people who will have a natural interest in certain things.
And our main category is of course fish keeping. So we start out on a few bread and butter fish. Then the categories get diverse and kick in after finding our feet in the hobby. And our category is one of the more extreme keeping monsters.
I dont know if that makes sense of not, but it planned out nicely in my head long ago lol

True, So VERY True.
i first started 9 months ago with a festivum and a cory in a 10 gal then returnd the festivum because i found out he would get to big and got a convict and eventually retuned him then got a 5 gal running with a gold fish (he died now hate with a passion dont ask why) put a betta in there after a while then got kribs for my 10 along with 2 dwarf rainbows and 6 tiger barbs then got a puffer got killed then a giant platy and i got a jewel and 2 days ago i got a paradise fish ............ my fish keep getting more and more towards monster fish atleast with attitude
well i always liked bigger fish since i got into the hobby but i guess my friend's 55 with mbuna cichlids started it all and from that day on i knew i had to have bigger and better fish.

the next night i got 2 black mollies which had babies
so out to buy another tank
the rest is history
i now have 3 10 gallons,4 1 gallon betta tanks,1 20 gallon,1 5 gallon,and 1 55 gallon
my fish consist of 1 albino tiger oscar
1 blood parrot
3 angelfish
1 adult black mollie and her 6 fry
1 goldfish
1 convict ciclid
2 bettas
and a bunch of feeders
i still have a soft spot for live bearers but i like my monster fish too

It starated with a fish bowl in elementary school grew to RD's, Oscars, and JD's through middle and high school. Took a break while in Marines. Now I have 8 tanks getting another 55 tomorrow (a freebie) and tomorrow Pinky the WORLD!!!!!! HA HA HAA AHA HA HAHA AHA AHAHAHA AHA AHAHHAHHA!!!!!!!
