They can reach 6 1/2 feet in length. And, their flexibility diminishes as they age. So, use these 2 pieces of info to gauge the setup a specimen will need for life.
I know Australian Lungfish can get that big in captivity, but isn't it almost unheard of for WAL to reach past 3' in captivity?
 
Mine was over 4 ft when I sold him. My albino is over 3ft now. He was about a foot when I got him 5 years ago. Is it unheard of, ...not really if the LF is properly housed, maintained, and fed. The 6 footer in the pic was tank raised.

nice, thanks for the info. I think it's just another species that is rarely kept in a big enough tank so the "max" size listed by vendors and species profiles isn't accurate.

It is a shame Protopterus amphibius are not seen much in the trade

Seriously.. OMG

I though WAL will grow max to max 3.5'.
Bcz never read or heard about 6' size.

I think i shall give him away.
