SolidStylez: No offense, but really it sounds like you're in way over your head with this fish...

Puffers are great pets, but MBU's and Fahakas are not for the faint of heart... they need seriously large tanks and require very special care in order for them to thrive... and let me be honest in saying by keeping an MBU in a 10G is definitely not the way to go, especially since it sounds like your planning on keeping him in there for life, and hes already 8" long...

Honestly, i would say either sell him back to the store you bought him from, or give / sell it to a more experienced keeper who knows how to deal with such a fish... since feeding them pellets is going to get your puffer no where, they need shell fish in their diet such as mussels, scallops, clams, prawns etc for a well balanced diet...

So i would honestly say, unless your going to be setting up a tank at least 500G+ in size in the very near future, and ready to for the massive bills of feeding and keeping these fish long term i would return it now before it gets stunted or worst, suffers and dies...

^ Given hes most likely a troll, but would still rather give out the advise, than to see a 8" MBU suffer while stuck in a 10G tank...

how about you flush yours down the toilette?..

Not possible: He wouldn't fit...

A tank in the shop is a TEMPORARY housing till the fish gets sold, so yes its going to be significantly smaller than most peoples tanks because stores don't expect to house them for life, only till they get SOLD and go to a PROPER HOME...so just coz its in a small tank at the store that doesn't mean what you are doing is fine... he is SUFFERING in a small tank even if its a 20G... since your still short by about 480G min for this fish to be HAPPY!!!

To give you an idea, i bought my Fahaka puffer at 1.5" and she went STRAIGHT into a 200G tank and is now over 14" long... I still think you have no idea what your doing and to be very honest your going to end up with a dead puffer in a less than a months time due to the size of the fish and the size of the tank + the pollutants that your fish will create...

Anyway, i'm done with this thread and you, since obviously you DO NOT care for your fish and take advice even if you know its suffering...so i'm going to end with saying good luck to your poor MBU, since i know its only going to be a matter of weeks before you'll end up with a dead fish and come back probably asking why...

Oh and Lastly, you didn't rescue him, since if a REAL puffer person picked him up he would probably be in a much larger tank compared to your 20G box of death...

yes i did rescue him because if i didnt buy him he would still be at the smaller tank so he is now in bigger tank so whats better him being in smaller tank or bigger tank i will ask 480 gallon for my birthday so u can stop tellin me to give my fish away when u dont want to keep ur fish from swimming in the ocean free like they should be like happy u want them to be? yes i care about my fish thats why i ask here whats wrong so dont tell me i dont care about fish ok thanx i think u dont know what ur doing if u only keep one puffer thats not mbu thanx
