I build my own PC's and haven't had any problems, especially not security, since doing that besides certain hardware problems, but you're going to have that no matter what system you use. I can't justify spending way more for a mac just to have one that's as fast as my PC. Plus, apple is trendy, lol.
 
^lol, well macs are not immune to viruses but are veery well protected. And if you don't want viruses on your PC, stop downloading crap. I have a pc with not virus program and had never had a virus. And most important of all, a PC is customizable something that mac lacks in.
 
my next computer will be a mac book pro and im thinking a imac for itunes movies and just all around simplicity... i will be building a custom PC as well... been looking to cut my dream falcon NW machine price tag in half... also going to rebuild my lap top with a samsung 256 gb ssd and switching it to xp...both have there special niche and there own pros and cons...
