A few days ago I went to my friends uncles houes and I was excited because he had a 300 gallon aquarium! Now this might not seem big to you guys because i've seen the gynormous tanks you keep. But that's HUGE!:WHOA: So I go into his basement to look at the tank and I almost killed myself! All that was in that 300 gallon tank was a few gouramis, minnows, corys, and a common pleco! He had like five good canister filters(rena xp4's) and It was a beutiful setup.:WTF: I asked him in almost rage "Why don't you put bigger fish in this setup!!!"? He said "I likes community fish".

Now people there is nothing wrong with liking community fish but he's keeping fish that can be kept in a 30 gallon let alone a 300 gallon! I think people shouldn't keep certain fish in certain size fish tanks. I've been dreaming of a tank that big and He's waisting it on community fish!

AHHHHH i'm so angry!:mad::swear:just hought i'd share.

ok... I'd put some fish that are just a bit bigger because lots of smaller fish make a nice setup, but COME ON!!! You could put tons of stuff in there! It'd be funny if he actually had a spare 30 gallon...

maybe your friends uncle want's to have a low maintanace tank, but still looks nice.

Dude, give him a break. Some people like community fish. I personally despise Oscars and Arowanas, but I don't go telling people to get rid of them. It's his tank, let him do what he wants.

OR you can refer him to MFK and have him join the addiction. :D

ya I dont see what the problem is, he is keeping fish he likes and sounds like he is doing a good job...

Whats wrong with keeping small fish in a 300G tank? Different people have different taste :P

Just like some people buy a 5000 sq ft + home and live alone, isnt that a waste of space / living area, when they can just rent a room to live in? :P

but where are they going to put all their aquariums?

whats wrong with community fish!? I have a 200 gallon with 50 neon tetras, 3 clown loaches, and a silver aro. does that mean my tank is going to waste :screwy:
