ikevi;1193764; said:So I am in the process of moving fish all around.
Hence I have decided to show of a little guy I have had for about 4-5 months now. He will someday be a ACA winner if I pulled him out and gave him his own tank.
Of course this type of fish has already won the ACA for great reason. So without further adu I bring you:

Aulonocara sp. "Lwanda"
CLICK on the above link for what these guys get to...
So if you haven't ever heard of this fish I don't know where you are located, but it isn't anywhere with Malawi cichlids.
But I need to do this fish. First off this fish can look amazing, I mean dang amazing, or they can look ok. IE still good but just not something that would win an award. I have managed to go through 3 now... 2 wild caughts. It was a sad day for me when I woke up to those deaths.
But the latest one I have shows the most amazing promise that I was stunned when I got it.
That being said, these fish can be hard to find and when you do see them they can be sold at insane prices. I get mine from Erik Dyke for a very reasonable price, but I have seen Lwandas twice about the same size as the guy I have or maybe bigger with not color at all going for 150... Mine cost me 9 bucks for this 2 inch male. The wilds cost ~30. (Plus shipping of course)
The problem is that these guys grow slow as heck. When I say slow I haven't had only had my Eureka reds grow at the same rate, but even they grow faster after the 2 inch mark. I can't say why this is but it is for me.
They have been very peaceful fish for me, if anything too peaceful. IE they may tend to hid color because of more aggressive fish.
Eh can't think of too much else. I only have a quick vid right now. Oh and they sell out very quickly anywhere I look. (Well any reasonable price that is.) If I were to breed fish this is the peacock I would do.
Oh and for coloring I have seen the gamut, just look at the samples in the above link. The can have orangish to yellow fin tops, and just get one already...
Anyways photos:

Placidochromis electra
So I just got this guy yesterday so I can't say much about them. Still I have to say it got my fancy enough that I have already ordered a female for the male. And the cool thing is the female and males both have color. I find this fish incredibly hard to photo graph but the vid worked great. IE you can't seem to see the yellow accents on the fin with photos very well not to mention this little guy never seems to stop moving.
(Oh and I assume this is more just the fish but I took him out of the bag with no color, stuck him in the tank and in 20 seconds he was the color he was now going 1 on 1 with the German red that is at least twice his size.)
Anyways good looking fish max size ~6 inches. Different from the norm. From what I have seen so far a highly suggested fish.
