This is a true story, and very possible, you have to remember that in Omaha where this happened all snakes over 6ft are banned, this guy had just bought this snake from a friend and had no idea how to handle a reptile of this nature. The red tail boa has plenty of body strenth and weight to easily kill a human. I live in Lincoln nebraska and work with a local reptile rescue here as I personally have five snakes and breed rats for the rescue and myself. I know it sounds dirty but rats are actually pretty cool, smart, and affectionate if handled often. But back to the subject if you are dealing with a large snake be sure to control its head at all times and remember even if you think your snake likes you, reptiles will always be a wild animal, domestication just is never entirely possible.
