sexual maturity has nothing to do with the size of the fish. I can see the left clasper perfectly fine in the pic.ChiroHorn;2691809; said:That's breeding size. You sure it's a male? Didn't see any claspers.

They put a peice of pipe over the stinger so the ray wont pucture the bag by accident during shipping. Don't try to take it off yourself, you could kill the ray. It'll fall off on its own, or come off with the stinger the next time they need to change their stinger. Not a smart idea to try to put one on yourself it could lash out and sting you. Why would you need to keep it on if you wont be handling or shipping the ray?Tom500;2692158; said:Also ive noticed that on the import pics there are covers over the sting.
What exactly are these and can you put them on and keep them on?
Dont try it. One wrong move and you hurt your ray or it lashes out, you get stung. Not fun when you have a venom coated stinger going into your hand. They sting pretty much as a last resort IE. you decide to be dumb and touch them, they don't feel liek mating, or a fish tries to pick a fight.Tom500;2692217; said:To protect the other fish in the tank if it gets spooked. I just thought if you could have em on it might reduce the risk to you and other tank mates if the ray spooks.
