The tank he came out of and was comfortable in had no cover at all, and I don't really know what I would provide for a 20" Marble to hide in...
I've been trying market prawn, fish fillets, pellets of all kinds, feeder fish, silver sides. And nothing seems to perk his appetite :(
I really hope he starts eating soon

Take heart, my pim that perished in the main sump lived (god knows on what) for close to four months without proper feeding. just keep the water clean and well aerated. the appetite should come back. One of the reasons could be the fact that you got an sub-adult specimen - these are usually more difficult to break-in. at least have them feeders for his company until he starts eating. nothing much to do except wait and see now. good luck

unlucky bout ure pim mate...i have a tiny 18 inch pim in my pond....he never grows eventho he eats a lot of massivores once in a while. funny enuf none of my fish try to eat him...must be the xtra long whiskers keeping the big fish away! even my 44'' RTC doesnt touch him! crazy.

The remaining pim is catching up in size with RTC ... well, lengthwise - nowhere near the fatness lol

It seemed to outcompete the RTCs for food - it is super hyper active during the feedings. It is not shy to come up to be handfed and hangsout on top of the water waiting for food. It eats crickets, which RTCs do not even touch (that is his advantage).

Max size wise, i don't think pim is gonna outgrow RTCs - but it will give them a good run for money

PS: i am really pissed about the surviving-now-dead pim. i was really looking forward to re-uniting them

it wud be great if u cud do one long video showing ALL of ure fishtanks and ure outdoor pond setup in one video....i did a vid like that on youtube before the renovations of my pond but i will do another one in june. then we can compare videos!!!

LETS DO IT!!! haha

Thanks ctoychik, He has some feeder friends, but he's also in with some Oscars, so when one disappears I don't know if its on O or the marble, but with how skinny the marble is starting to become, it wouldn't surprise me if it was just the Os...

Thats the one fish I have had that has NEVER had a problem...no hunger strikes from my Marbles... they Always eat... till they look like they will explode... typical tricks... dropping smelly foods right on their nose... keep the tank dark...ect doesn't work?

Hmmm, interesting idea. I have some youtube videos of my set-ups ... but never one large one that inlcudes all. Let me look into it. I am just using photocamera video ... never tried making one long one

My outdoor pond needs serious algae scrubbing. water is clear, but the glass is completely overgrown :irked:

Well, the only thing we can do it wait. Keep trying with the prawns as well as there is no way of knowing whether pim is eating.

Perhaps the pim is not used to clean water yet so it is still adjusting? i never had problems with mines (mine). they ate from day one in their new tank (but they are small juvies when i got them). after eating they always look like stuffed with tennis ball lol

Yeah, none of the normal tricks have been working. I've done the tank in semi darkness and full darkness and with the lights on... dropped all the food ive attempted right in front of him...

Figures, I search for a year to find one, and the one I get is a retard...
