Marbled gar? Has anyone heard of it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Do you have any pics of one? It would be a bit easier to identify if we all had a pic to go off from. Now I'm not an expert by any means, I'm just asking for those that still have yet to chime in. I have a rough idea of what you could be talking about but I'd like to know for certain if my hunch is correct.

Honestly I wouldn't trust em with cichlids. They aren't exactly built to defend themselves from a smaller and more aggressive fish.
Magnus_Bane Magnus_Bane Could some floating plants help? they stay at the top I think so would it still not work if their is plants?

sorry if it sounds like im not listening the addvise is really great just trying to find a cool oddball and I really like the looks of them

Really? even with the standard demensions of 18 inchs deep are their any other charicins that could work?
Not really, most that I know of get upto 2ft in length. If ya want a gar look alike however ik peppermint crocodile Pike's would be a decent replacement same with belonesox. Here's pics of both. Top one is the croc, while the second is the belonesox.
