Giant slender moray = Strophidon sathete. Grows big! Are you going to eventually move it to your eel tank?

Thats a salt water morrey....right??

Not sure.... IF adults are found in FW is it truley Salt Water?

It seems they are found in estuaries and tidal portions of rivers. I would say they are not freshwater-only and do require partial to full marine conditions.

I was told adults are found in the freshwater they were collected from.

Still refusing food.

Gonna be pretty bent if this freshwater thing doesn't pan out.

Has he eaten for you yet and did you ever find out if they are truly Fresh? I don't know exactly what type I had but the were just called fresh water snow flake morays. Appeared to be some type of gymno, anyways they lived for over 3 years and 30"+ in totally fresh and the only reason I lost them was because they were able to escape their setup and died before I got home from work. They would eat anything that moved including my fingers, I received wounds on multiple occasions.

I've kept many G. Tiles. I think there was one here for around 4 years, and for all I know is still alive. Sold it a couple years ago. Had great luck with them but the heavier the salt the longer they lived. The longest living was converted to salt after 2 years.

This was a Sathette like Spotfin said.

The eel passed tonight. Was dead when I got home from work.

I was skeptical of fresh too, but figured if it was possible it would be in the liquid rock we have here.

Pretty bummed it didn't work out. Shoulda followed my gut and passed on it not having a brackish tank setup but didn't have any reason to think it needed brackish.

Sorry to hear.
