inverts dont get ich, cleaner shrimp and fire shrimp are thought to clean parasites but in reality they do not, occasionally they'll knock some parasitic cysts off a fish but they will not actually fix the problem. if you can see the garlic get it out.. you're best off buying garlic guard by seachem or selcon or even vitachem to supplement the food, don't use actual garlic

Look what I found while looking for what I was talking about: http://atj.net.au/marineaquaria/marineich.html Didn't read it, just glanced, but looked like decent enough. :)

And I also found another forum that said this about the shrimp eating ich thing:

cleaner shrimp dont eat ich, ich is under the skin, they do help erradicate the fish of it but dont cure it. only way to cure a tank of ich is copper which cant be used for a reef or inverts, or a slow drop down and do hyposalinity, or pull all fish out of tank and put in a qt for 6-8 weeks.......Cleaner shrimp will try to eat ick...and the fish that has it will try to make itself available for the shrimp to eat it...but don't count on the shrimp to be successful..........Maybe it does get some before the parasite is able to embed itself fully.

Anyway, I thought I'd bring it to the table. Can never have too many angles, right?

Now the wrasse has more ich, all of the others seem fine, but I can't tell on the dragonet because he just unburied himself!

Well this morning he looked like he had more ich on his body, now it just looks confined to his tail and fins. He is acting really sluggish and just sits in different rocks, and only swims to get to a new crevice. I also didn't see him eat last night. I am hoping I can catch him and put him in the refugium with a piece of rock to monitor him.

That was interesting Kelly! Also I found somewhere that this one guy was curing his fish with ginger, I guess I will have to pick some up!!!

typically when they stop eating its over. hope he pulls through for you

Well, being the first day it is normal for any fish not to eat I thought...

Lol Kelly I forgot to tell you why I loved that article. It says in there that dragonets are supposedly immune to ich!!!! At least I will have my scooter blenny!

2nd night he didn't eat. All of the others (including corals) ate, even the scooter blenny ate more than normal. He has just hung out in my rocks. From the grand total of seeing him 3 whole times today he seems pretty fat (not bloated) and as I have said earlier the ich seems to just be on his tail. What makes me sad is day 1 he was eating my puffers clam, but I haven't tried clam since, since my puffer doesn't (surprisingly) like clam. What will I do to get rid of the worms if he does pass? Urchin? Another wrasse as they are fairly common. If I did another wrasse could I QT it in a 12 gal? What would I need for the QT?

Also I forgot to add the Valentini isn't really interested in things that aren't a frozen food it seems, so maybe a shrimp?
