So using that logic, we should all be allowed to drink and drive. There are more drinking and driving arrests that don't result in injuries and fatalities vs the ones that do result in deaths and injuries. Oops, but when someone gets drunk and kills someone, it gets a lot of coverage....
It is a big deal to end a life, especially over drugs. When you become a cop, you sign up for the possibility of death. They shouldn't have fired until fired upon, and any other action should've been dealt with. I also think there should be a provision for monitoring the actions of these officers.
I disagree wholeheartedly! We should ABSOLUTELY not be allowed to drink and drive. That is not even the issue. The issue is AGAIN political & police corruption.
At least in my state (Maryland) there was NO driving under the influence/ intoxicated laws until around thirty years ago. When they adopted a B.A.C. to "constitute" intoxication, they used a very responsible 0.15 ratio. This was truly DRUNK and the individual behind the wheel was either seriously impaired, or at least had a tolerance to alcohol that 100% required medical treatment.
After discovering how much revenue was generated by the state from the police for enforcing this new law, it only took a couple years before the scum-bucket politicians determined that if 0.15 could generate such revenue that 0.12 would bring in even more revenue. Well, then it was 0.10. . . . .
Now it is NOTHING SHORT OF A SCAM! A man works all day long, heads after work to happy-hour at the local watering hole. Half the damn police force are waiting outside to do their jobs and collect revenue for the state. Joe plummer finishes his first beer and orders up a second one. As it stands now, if he does not leave the second glass half full on the bar when he goes home he is contributing to the MD DWI tax!
Total crock of MANURE! Just stop blaming the police, they are doing the job that the government has assigned them to do. I have often said, all that our pollutitions need to do to make every man, woman and child in the USA a criminal is pass a law declaring that breathing is illegal. In fact I sure do wish that they would do exactly that. At least every retarded 100% law abiding citizen would drop dead within four minutes, and every survivor would be a heinous criminal.
At that point the police and judges would have to make moral judgements and determine whether or not to continue in their current jobs. I personally would not have a low enough moral standard to enforce or interpret such a law. It is all up to the individual.
Sorry if this ticks anyone here that works for the government, police or the judicial system.
We are here on MFK where people scream bloody murder for a guppy being kept in under a 55 gallon aquarium. How do the same MFKr's feel about a human being caged in a 7' x 8' cage for puffing a doobie or drinking two beers at happy-hour?
