Matt's 40 Gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
awesome tank, I think you've aquascaped it very nicely (mine tend more towards the "overgrown" look)

I would advise one caution: don't see a need to dose with Flourish, since a) you are using Flourite, which is an excellent substrate, and b) your plants appear to be mainly rooted plants.

generally speaking, aquatic plants with planted roots get their nourishment from the substrate, while floating or attaching plants (like java ferns, anuibias) will benefit from liquid ferts like Flourish . . .

I'm not saying not to use it, I'm just cautioning against over-use, which might inadvertently promote algae growth . . .

ha well, Sab Fan, now it looks a little more filled in. I'm trying out driftwood pieces, so let me know what you think MFK. I can't make up my mind whether it looked better before or after. Hmmmm.

BTW lost the female guppy, so I'll have to get another one this weekend.

looks sweet get another angel

eh i was planning on returning the angelfish because i heard they don't bode well with neon tetras, which i was planning on getting, and they ate my algae eating shrimp and will probably eat all the fry too huh? I'll see, my friend actually got me my angel and he really likes it so it would be mean if i got rid of it.

sooo i feel like i literally fxcked up my tank. within the last week, ive lost 1 harlequin rasbora, 2 ottos, and 1 gbr. On top of that, I can't find the perfect aquascape and each time i do rearrange, it kicks up all this dust and clouds the tank so i can't see what i'm doing, and I doubt that the fish are benefiting from it at all. On top of that, I'm having a huge algae bloom and a lot of my plants are melting. My angelfish is breathing funny, the rest of my rasboras are losing color and my betta is in the bottom corner of the tank and i doubt he'll survive till morning. so basically i failed up the a$s and now i feel like fxck.
