Probably get a few fry out of this batch, my friends goldfish always raid the sunfish nest when the sunnies spawn, but there's generally still a dozen or more fry that make it to maturity

Take one of those egg covered rocks and raise some fryI’m hoping so. Besides the rock around the edges the pond doesn’t have any cover for fry. So if I see any wigglers over the next week I’ll pull some to raise. I miss having fry to care for and watch grow. And I’ve never raise Goldie fry so I’m hopeful!
They have been at it for hours. There are thousands of eggs everywhere.

My husband got me a new net, so I decided to give it a try today. I only took out a couple. These two have been looking really nice this year. Their color, the orange darkening mostly, has been making me happy. View attachment 1322288View attachment 1322289
This next picture is a little distorted from the water, but you can see the color better. View attachment 1322290
Hi Utsuri and Tancho. Good job!
Glad he didn't get you a new spear gun to practice with.
I would say he's heading towards Showatlindsey Thank you. I think for cheap pond grade koi they have been turning out well.
Haha XD
Thanks! The tancho came out of no where. He looked more like a bekko as a little 2 incher. The sumi went jet black and really took over. Then that tancho spot popped up last year. It was a light orange and has gotten darker since.
I’m not great with koi names, and I can’t pin point what he would be called. Tancho sanke or tancho showa? Leaning toward Showa because sumi is rising on his head.
Opinions?
