Oh i didn't see that one but i just watched it and the mermaids look like 3d animation which they are but even though the show is faked i think its possiblefor mermaids to exists. The oceans are too vast to know every animal that lives in them

Here's my thoughts on Mermaids:

First off, How? There is no way Fish and Human could breed together. Too many pre and post-zygotic barriers for that to happen. If humans can't breed with Apes, Fish are definetly out of the question.

Second, The only true source of sightings have come from drunk, scurvey ridden sailors. If you believe them, you really need to question your judgement skills.

Finally, Yes you can say that the ocean is so big that anything is possible, but this really isn't possible. Its not like Bigfoot or Nessie, or even El Chupacabra. Those things could technically happen and can't be completely disprooven scientifically. Mermaids can, for the reasons I cited above and many, many, many others.

It's all just foolish if you ask me.

Alright, rant concluded.

Well said!

I honestly can't understand how people actually believe this is real. 1) It's qualified as fiction. 2) The "scientists" are actors.

C'mon guys. The CGI wasn't even good. You'd think if they really wanted to trick people, they'd have put an Avatar level of effort into this.

The "I'm a French model" syndrome is 10x more powerful on TV apparently.

Yeah, as soon as i saw a clip, I knew it was fake. Doesn't look nearly real enough.

I forgot to add a point:

Lets say it is possible for fish (or marine mammals) and humans to mate. How the hell does the fish parts and human parts divide 50/50. I'd imagine it would actually be a disgusting mess that would be the scariest thing ever. Just imagine a face with fish eyes, gills, and a tiny brain, or a torso with a weird scale and skin hybrid. Extended fins as arms. Flat bodied and wide.

Oh God, the possibilities are endless and get worse and worse......

Surprised so many fish keepers buy into this. Its as if there is a little too much daydreaming going on while they are watching their fish.

I swear I am getting so annoyed by people on facebook who actually believe this was a real documentary. I want to say something but I'm not really friends with these people or haven't talked to them in years so it would be awkward.

Do you think I could keep one for life in a 240 ??
