MFK is too PG-13

i got a thread deleted about me having my small pox vaccination, getting water proof banaids so i could do physical activities and that i was going out to see the new local life.... idk what was wrong with that, it was the beginning of alot of pictures and a cool giant blister, but it got deleted...

Your OP didn't say anything about a 'vaccination'. It stated that you got smallpox and were intent on going out to seek locals. In that context, it was a troll post. That's why it was deleted.

I have been 'moderated' more than once.

Some of the "terms of use" are based on a moderators opinion, nothing more. Differences are what makes the world go 'round, not conformity!

While that may be a good saying it doesn't really work. Even sites that brag "No Rules here" still have rules. You absolutely can't run a successful forum with any real content with a no rules system. It would be a mess and every intelligent conversation would get ruined.

We're not really a democracy. Heck the U.S. goverment isn't really a democracy if you think about it. Someone makes the rules for you and you obey them the best you can. And while I hate conformity we all do it in other parts of our life I'm sure. From work, to how to act in public, to how we drive. The TOS and choices we make are to ease the use of this site for others, ease staff keeping everything neat and tidy, lessen offense of others and arguments, and make this site as successful as possible.

way i see it is they r covering their ***s for if something did happen.

Some things we edit/delete may seem petty at the time of correction even if it's not in the TOS but it's usually fixed to curb a mass explosion later. For the most part everyone on this site uses common sense. There are ways to get your point across and even argue your point if need be that won't get/need edited. I should know. I've done it.

Far be it from anyone to consider that a slight improvement to ones vocabulary may preclude the need for vulgar fillers.

If a person's self-worth and happiness hinges on whether or not a post is edited or deleted, IMO, a reevaluation of said life is strongly in need.

Couldn't agree more. Self restraint counts a lot as well in a public forum like this.

yeah, but the craziness in the youtube comments section are hilarious most of the time!

people are generally nuts, and they show it off quite well on youtube.

perfect example. youtube has turned to trash because of the comments. its so ridiculous. i never even bother to read. if MFK was even remotely close to youtube, i wouldnt be here. i dont need to see a bunch of posts that look like text messages and contain profanity. its hard enough understand the bad grammar of some people here already.

Yeah, I thought this way too, but I keep seeing several of the moderators use "WTF" and "damn".

It is supposed to be a kid-friendly forum, believe it or not. I personally think that MFK is too PG-13 in that there is too many swear words, not too little.
