I picked him up at 4:30 yesterday he was in a 220 with about 10 Frontosa.
The man said they never bothered him. I sat there for about an hour and watched the fish he stayed at top they at bottom. I hope its not fin rot or something else. The tank was crystal clear with 3 Aquaclear 110's for filtration. I just couldn't see anything other than those fish beating on him. I just knew I had to try to save him. He swims normally I just pulled some food sticks out that he didn't eat and he wasn't scared. He let me touch him with the net and just swam normally.
Normally i would say no way would frontosa do that... they never even go up there.. they always stay middle to bottom.. but during the night..arows do settle down and rest on the bottom.. 10 frontosa could have freaked and nipped.. and if this happens night after night.. he would sure look ragged.. so there is a definite possibility..it is not that the frontosa are aggressive but he was vulnerble and in their space.. so yes it could definitly .be a good possibility... i see mine resting at the bottom all the time.. i don't think fin rot.. or i would say you would have seen some indication on the fronts as well.. give it some time.. i think he just needs time..

Thanks Liz all the fronts were very healthy and very beautiful fish. I know that you have some so I figured you could help. I didn't see any aggression from them but you are probably right. The whole time I was there the silver just looked at me like take me home. The guy that had him has 7 horses, dogs, birds so I dont see how it could be abuse. He just said he didn't have time to take care of them anymore.

omg that video is beautiful. The little guy is a trooper... he stays up with those big guys... i almost felt like holding the baby.. haha.. now i know i am losing it.. but he is just so so adorable.. everyone looks so healthy... keep those up dates coming.. want to see the baby again.. :D:D

Thanks. Thought I'd try and get the baby acclimated to it's older cousins. Hopefully he'll remain alright when he gets bigger :lipsseale. Currently just shy of 4". The other guys are mellow. I'm basing this trial on the fact I don't feed live food. Hikari foodsticks as a staple along with frozen krill now and then. So curbing the hunt/territorial instinct. :grinyes:

i am hoping too.. and alot of people do not believe that makes a difference but i do agree... i have never fed my 16 inch clown knife live and he is with angels.. never bothers anyone.. but your baby is so precious.. i really would be nervous.. but yes it looked great.. like he is totally one of the boys... adorable..
