MFK'r on Craigslist

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree its a free country but if I were to sell something at a discount price to a MFK'er, I would consider that a favor to a fellow hobbyist.

For them to turn around and immediately sell it on CL for profit seems unethical to me. If someone ever did that to me I wouldn't do business with them again or I'd jack the price up if they didn't plan on keeping the fish I gave them a deal on.

Let me ask this, what if this becomes a regular occurence, buy cheap here, using your friendship and camraderie here, and profiting elsewhere.

I, myself, am not too keen on people who use friendships to profit.

When can you begin to see it for what it is, a use of the community for personal proftit..............greed.

i can see that some people understand.

ok see this is tricky cause this is a double edged sword, while it is morally, ethically wrong because that tank, fish, filter, heater, etc could go to a fellow MFK'er that is in deseperate need for it, where now it is bieng purchased by someone not needing it at all just trying to make a quick dollar, it is also a case where what someone does with there money is there own business, in other words for example "if i go buy a car that a teenager really wanted and took it not needing it to sell it for profit that is noones business but my own" so it's more a matter of how does one feel about taking advantage of a great deal givin by a fellow mfk'er looking to help others. I myself would never do such a thing, to me it's just wrong,

P.s as far as the whole Hustler thing goes, Im all for hustlin when needed, but not when someone is giving you a deal, in the process losing profit themselves, just for you to make a quick 50-100 bucks, that aint hustling anymore, thats grimmy... hustling is when both parties benefit due to acts that make them both money, not someone putting there neck out and losing money for your own personal gain..... now.. if someone sells it for a premium price and gains and u buy and re sell for your own gain, thats a hustle....

If someone buys something its their's and they can do whatever they want with it. If you want to talk about ethics, I think its unethical to be judgemental of someone else. I can't see why its any of your business, especially if it was never yours in the first place.

It really pisses me off when ppl feel they should dicate whats right and wrong. If its not illegal don't make such a big deal over it.

Free market, and a deal is a deal. I see nothing wrong with flipping it if he gets the chance. I mean it's one thing to sweet talk your buddy out of something and then sell it, that's dirty. But if all he did was find something in one classified and sold it in another that's business. That's what they call Capitalism, and the last time I checked I live in America, where that is the way of life. Since he bought the tank from an MFKer and didn't steal it from him, it is safe to assume that the tank or whatever was purchased at a price that the seller agreed upon, and since that was the case, the seller has nothing more to say about it. Other than maybe **** I should have sold it on Craigslist.

There's the kind of people who can sell things, and there's others who can't, nothing wrong with either. I give props to the guy who made money on the deal for using his head and staying sharp.

I'm not saying give a sob story to rip people off, but if all he did was flip it, that's just how things work. Buy low, sell high.

noones dictating anything, well at least im not, this is simple a small debate/learning process, about wether or not something is right or wrong, so don't go on a tangent about ITS WRONG TO SAY THAT WHAT SOMEONE ELSE IS DOING IS WRONG, because those people always end up biting there tounge..... cause in life ther is always right and wrong and for someone to be WRONG in judging to help show others the enlightend side that so be it. cause it is also WRONG to hit your child when they mis behave or to put them in time out when they arent behaving cause it is a FREE WORLD "as you must think, but later on down the road when a child tells it's parents to shut the blank up (which is not illegal) than what? sometimes judgment and rules are needed, otherwise this world would be chaos. because if judging is wrong" than your WRONG for judging us on judging others...... so dont go on so fast about whats wrong and right cause in life, there are millions of double Edged Swords, so don't go throwing rocks when you live in a glass house cause We all ALL guilty of something........

I agree whole-heartedly...

Unless it was established the item(s) were intended to be sold elsewhere, I don't think it's right.

I'd be a little upset if I went out of my way to hook someone else up with a really nice deal, only to find out they went ahead and sold it for any profit. I'd feel a little stabbed in the back.. But that's me "the seller"... I can't say how i'd feel if I wasn't a part of the transaction. I'd probably be a bit indifferent, and if anything, i'd feel bad for the seller.

Of course this is just my two cents...
