MFK's Official Minitank - Rebuild (ZERO NITRATE)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Huh...haha, I don't really know either. It's pretty cool. Kinda looks like black lava rock. I could see it having a place in some aquascapes a lot better than a plain flower pot

Justin, the 10 looks great, but that flower pot looks like poo. :D

However, I think that foam might be the perfect thing for moss to grow on, and it would look awesome and pretty natural with all the random shapes on it covered in moss. :)

I think the pot looks like total crap IMO.. Meh whatever... I had to try it.

Lets talk lighting. I want to leave this tank open top, so I need a light that will mount above the plants and look good. Anyone have any ideas or links for me??? :naughty:

One more thing, I do not need the lights to grow the plants. They grow from natural sunlight. I just need a fixture that will look good above the tank and height of the plants. ;)

There's a ton of fixtures out there that will mount on the rim of your tank... What's your budget? Since you don't want to grow plants with it I would just go LED personally... No bulb changes for years. :D

Budget = < $100 ? don't really have a budget just want lighting that sets this tank above others.. Don't really care to watse money either..

Metal Halide lights to give the tank a shimmer effect :) Haha. A small one that would fit the 10gal would be less than $100.

Yeah, but an LED will give the same effect, eat way less electricity, and not need expensive bulb replacements. ;)
They come in the same style as the metal halide lamps if you want to hang them, or you can buy a fixture that sits on the rim.
