All nonsense aside.... Brady/Vick are obvious votes but....

Why doesn't anyone give love to Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers? Have you seen the injuries Rivers has dealt with all season? He lost his total receiving core. And Matty "ice" Ryan is 12-2 this year.

I know a QB always wins this, but what about Palomalu? Look what happens to his team when he's out... They lose to the JETS.

i was actually thinking about who would deserve it from the falcons. i'd give it to turner before matt ryan though. i guess the problem with matty ice is they got to play the weak nfc west (auto 4 wins) and his individual stats aren't all that impressive. he also suffers from not playing in enough prime time games.

rivers, his team record kills it for me. i can make just as strong an argument about injuries for peyton manning and he's actually in first in his division

Charles Manson - I'm sorry I don't know the story perfect as to how many were killed... we shall just say 5 people.
There is a better than even chance that Manson didn't actually kill anyone. He planned the kills and made other people (weak vulnerable people) do the actual killing.

Very impressed with Sundays game, I was hoping to open the thread and read about the game, not people criticizing him for his past. I absolutely have no tolerance for any kind of abuse (including substance abuse), but the man did his time. If you want to still remain judgmental towards him at this point, that is your business. But, everyone deserves a second chance and his turnaround in attitude is to be applauded. There are people with far worse crimes committed that have been released and simply forgotten about. The only reason people still dwell on MV's charges is because he is a public figure and his crime involved animals.

Hypothetically, say he was arrested for selling large amounts of cocaine (which could have and would have led to overdose deaths). If caught and charged for simple sales/distribution and then released, no one would bat an eye judging him making a comeback when he was released. Give the guy a second chance.

As far as the game goes, it was the best game I have personally ever seen (I just started watching football last year to put that into context). I am a NY Jets fan but also root for the Giants just because they are a home team. Anyway, I was in Philly for the game on Sunday staying at a friend's house, so I found myself rooting against everyone else in the room. It was cool to see everyone in the room upset at the start of the game and myself happy, and then the tables turn. Seeing I have only watched football for the last two seasons along with a few Super-bowls over the years, I was really impressed by MV's performance. Being a Jets fan, I am not used to seeing a QB be so aggressive as to run the ball with such athleticism as MV displayed yesterday. I was very well impressed with his performance.

Also, I had a friend that was a Philly Eagles fan and I watched a few games with him over 10 years ago. Is that the same coach they have now that they had then? I seem to recognize him, but I would be shocked if it were the same guy. I don't remember Philly as being super bowl contenders over the last 10 years.

Check out what Giants coach Tom Coughlin had to say about Vick after the game with the Ealges:

“That’s as frustrating as it gets to anybody, a defensive team or anyone, to be in position and to be doing what your responsibilities are, and the quarterback just slithers his way out of there or he ducks down, or however he did it,” Coughlin said. “He made huge plays against us and put them in position.”

That is a lot of respect there from a coach who lost.

Well, if the past is the past, in that case...OJ Simpson Rocks!

Without vick in philly they wouldnt even be in the playoff talk.....without brady in New England somebody else would step in and do great because thats what the Patriots do. They have the best coaching in the NFL and prepare better than any other team. So my conclusion is Brady without Bill is like the Eagles without Vick...just average IMO.
