Very impressed with Sundays game, I was hoping to open the thread and read about the game, not people criticizing him for his past. I absolutely have no tolerance for any kind of abuse (including substance abuse), but the man did his time. If you want to still remain judgmental towards him at this point, that is your business. But, everyone deserves a second chance and his turnaround in attitude is to be applauded. There are people with far worse crimes committed that have been released and simply forgotten about. The only reason people still dwell on MV's charges is because he is a public figure and his crime involved animals.
Hypothetically, say he was arrested for selling large amounts of cocaine (which could have and would have led to overdose deaths). If caught and charged for simple sales/distribution and then released, no one would bat an eye judging him making a comeback when he was released. Give the guy a second chance.
As far as the game goes, it was the best game I have personally ever seen (I just started watching football last year to put that into context). I am a NY Jets fan but also root for the Giants just because they are a home team. Anyway, I was in Philly for the game on Sunday staying at a friend's house, so I found myself rooting against everyone else in the room. It was cool to see everyone in the room upset at the start of the game and myself happy, and then the tables turn. Seeing I have only watched football for the last two seasons along with a few Super-bowls over the years, I was really impressed by MV's performance. Being a Jets fan, I am not used to seeing a QB be so aggressive as to run the ball with such athleticism as MV displayed yesterday. I was very well impressed with his performance.
