Midas not growing at all

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the more you focus on the growth, the slower you think he's growing. I'm like that as well, just give him time.

They start to slow down around that size.
Only people who might notice it growing now are people who don't get to see him everyday.
Wait till next year I'm sure he'll be a beast.

Is he getting any thicker? After a while, they stop stretching and start getting chunky (kinda like my wife :)

back to the midas, beauty,,,,my jaguar grew from 2inches-10inches at the click of the fingers but has slowwwwwwwed down now to nothing, but hes still got chunking up to do then growing a wee bit more,,,paitence in this case

Okay, thanks everyone. I assumed he'd hit that plateau but just wanted to make sure everything's ok.

He about murdered my hand yesterday when I siphoned his tank, and I got some video of him today getting aggressive. I'll try to upload and post it.

First off he's a RD/MIDAS cross and because of that mixture genetics will play a large role in his overall size. It is possible that he is done growing. Try increasing the size or amount of waterchanges you do.

I got a male Midas nearly a month ago from Ken Davis. I'm really happy with him, but I just measured him and he hasn't grown a single bit! He's 8.5" and seems to be stuck in that teenager stage where he refuses to cross over into adult stage.

He eats like a pig, has a 100g tank to himself, and gets 50% weekly water changes. Is it normal for him to have stopped growing already?
