Sevs are all pretty much the same temperament. The ones I have had were very tolerant but able to hold their own.

x2

As for chosing one over another. I would have liked to keep a red severum but the turquoise ones i kept were beautiful, even at 4 inches. It all comes down to what you like the best, i personally think they all look great at adult size

cool. in your opinion are there any that are better than the other

Personally, I'm a big oscar fan, I would do that over any of the others you have suggested so far. But sevrums would be a close second. And like Nick (303mfk) says, the turquoise ones are truly beautiful. I would love to see your tank with a good sized turquoise sev in it.

I've never seen one of those before.

I have the notatus (spotted severums) in with other cichlids they used to hold there own but know they looked stressed as the other cichlids pair of oscars included have gotten bigger and more aggressive,

Makes sense about the 75 sorry for jumpin to conclusions.

Check out the central americans before you decide, jd is a central, not south am. And imo centrals are really nice, try to go with fish that dont get as big as oscars for your 75

If your heart is set on severums and you dont get other overly aggressive fish there is alot of choices, I like roketiel, red, and notatus personally.

Definately agree. You wont be dissapointed, they have a whole different body shape then the dempsey and parrot, kind of like a sunfish in a way. good luck and post pics!
