midas/red devil breeding for certain colours, gene help?

Would you send him over, if i cover the price? But first you would need to find out about shipping from there to here....

If you are looking to create a strain of fish that breed true you will need to do some extensive reasearch into genetics. Unfortunatly not my forte but the domestic Angelfish and Discus breeders practise this type of thing all the time when trying to achieve different color variants, finnage lengths, patterns ect. I guess even the flowerhorn guys use it but that's all fish voodoo to me. Good luck, the reasearch itself shoud be a pretty good educational experiance.

thanks very much for your advice, im looking forward to seeing how this batch im growing out now... hopefully some of the discus, angelfish and flowerhorn guys can give me some advice... thanks.

Miguel, why would you do this? For you're going to pay for fish+shipping+ other costs you could easils buy a HQ midas in Portugal..

i'll look into it, even with 30hr heatpacks it would be risky mate... and probably expensive! jeff rapps imported to a guy near me if he bought in bulk... maybe he would do you a deal on some nice wilds at a larger size? he emailed me back personally when i had a saggitae with a few problems! nice guy! on his website theres an email address. posting to portugal cant be any different to the uk right?

ive ended him on ebay for now... dont cost anything atm....
just got a quote for 10kg and size of 450x300x300 through a normal courier so not sure if they take live fish, was 56 british pounds alone, gurranteed next day by 12pm... i have a polybox heatpacks would be around 10 pounds to be safe.... was asking 15 pounds starting bid for the fish, hoping for 25 pounds... i reckon it would cost 80-90 quid for a box that size.... its 30 pounds delivery for a small box 250x125x150... he's 9-10 inch long so even the large box would be tight for that amount of time!

Best is to check with an lfs. If they know how to do it and are willing, we talk, allright?

ok mate, i'll give them a call tomorrow.
