Your ideas sound good but it would equate to me joining Walmart or Kmart and telling everybody "We will be carrying AR15's and AK's next week and we are closing all the local gun shops".....Not gonna happen.

Posts in third person are in bad taste.....ex. "Armac is joing in Kmart, all AR15's will be on sale, all machine guns are 1/2 off, Armac is King"

See what I mean, speaking about one's self in the third person is a little freaky:ROFL:

And if you don't want to support me.. :nutkick:

There is a pretty big difference between carrying different types of fish and having higher standards in a pet store, then a 'general' store carrying heavy duty weaponry when they shouldn't be carrying guns in the first place. The gun stores should carry the guns, Kmarts should carry laundry baskets. What a stupid analogy.

I never said I was changing the place, I never said I was going to shut down the competition, I never said I would make things on sale, and I never said I was King.. Get out of here with your pestimistic attitude.. It's not my fault that the corporations are going to run the poorly operated mom n' pop shops out of town, but atleast I am attempting to do something about the future of the hobby.. and I talked in the 3rd person? I didn't even realize, but either way your attempts to dismantle a positive thought have fallen way short. Go clean your guns.

bring it all down!!!!

last i heard the walmart fish dude was helping someone in seasonal goods. if the big box stores dont sell dogs or cats why do they bother selling fish. must just be pure greed. the fish are dealt with no different than the mop pails over in aisle 12. or maybe thats just the several locations in my city.

if you have the impressive goals to try and change this system throughout, wouldn't it just be easier to work towards starting your own national "fismart" such as the big als franchises up here in canada?

It's not Walmart.. geez c'mon. I believe what they are doing is not right, and yes it has to do with greed.. Let's not turn this into an ethical argument.

and at this point, starting my own corporation is a null and void idea.. Perhaps in a few years when I can acquire a multi-billion dollar loan and find a handful of investors.. Like I said, I will do what I can with what I have to work with..

Yeah, I know all about it.. However, they do have off-line systems that could be installed such as Stingray Pools, Hard-Water, or Soft-Water.. Only if corporate would pull the stick out. I will definately work on it.

BTW, The systems usually are on automatic drip systems, so the water parameters are that of the tap water.. and it is often preached, even on MFK, to allow your fish to adapt to your water parameters. Sometimes 'hardcore' hobbyist have a hard time changing their ways and see it fit to re-create ideal conditions by messing with water parameters.. But, with some species it is necessary.

Also keep in mind more and more rare fish are being captive bred over in Asia, and being brought into the states. This creates more adaptable fish and eventually rarer fish will be easier to keep. (ie: Discus)

Very true Miles! African Cichlids are another excellant example. I wish you luck buddy!

I have been in this hobby for over 30 years and have seen a bunch of changes...aside from technology most of the changes have been for the worst...I hope you can turn that trend around!

my bad bud, i thought walmart and i was wrong. good luck.

I'll just say good luck with your new venture. I'm sure that you will be sucessful in talking the DM into stocking some oddballs if it's the last thing you do!
