How old are you? If you are 16+ yrs old just move out and get your own place and do what you want. My parents were totally cool with any thing i did when i was young but i still had more respect than to load there house full of stuff. When i was into nitro rc cars real bad i bought a shed and assembled it out back to keep all my stuff in. I learned if you never ask for a dollar and don't load stuff in the house and just aim all your efforts and money towards getting your own place to live life is easy. If you want all the material items an adult would have then be an adult and put them in your own place.

Respect?

I thought asking before hand was respect enough, maybe the mother should have actually listened?

Me too... wow, I've been wrong all these years?! Holy crap...what to do with the parrots, rabbits, and kitties now?! Not to mention all these fish! Why haven't I bought my own house--- oh wait, the economy is crap and no one can get a job to afford one right now, I remember! XD I just had to say it... I barely make minimum, and have to work like a dog...

xD Sadly, not an only child though, oldest of four. But I will remember this when she is old! They are supposedly getting them redone sometime between now and a month from now, since my uncle does flooring.

Hey, your bf said ONE tank, did he mention anything about size? -coughs; knock out a wall and replace it with a 15'.x.5'.x.6' tank, eh? You could have ANYTHING then ^^;

Yup did that and now i get my 256 and my garage for a huge fish room. Now I did have to put my hobby completely on hold for 5 years and light indulgence for 4 more as I ground my way first through college (which was a complete waste as I made more an an EMT then with that horse crap diploma) then a year of trying to make money with said degree, then 3 years of grad school which was hell but worth it financially. Now at 30 I get to do my hobby my way. Was it worth it, well no not really rather have stayed home and worked low end aquarium jobs and gotten the same result. The "adult" thing got me where I wanted to be much much later in life.

If your parents won't budge then yeah you have little choice. With mine I got away with a lot because I know how to fix things and keep their house from falling apart. You could always try a barter system if you know how to fix things, you win they win and everyone is happy. The first time you save them having to call a plumber to fix the toilet they may be more accepting.

Had a friend with a leaky toilet and the plumber water $180 to fix it. Never having dealt with local plumber I figure it would be some huge repair but took a look anyway. The bolts holding the tank were rusted out and it needed a new seal tank to bowl. $10 at Home Depot (10pm it's the only thing open) and half an hour later good as new. My parents keep wanting me to visit :grinno:

Wow...that sounds like a lot of work XD I'm looking into college, but am not sure what I'm doing yet though... Perhaps I could become a car repair person xD Then they would love me a lot more! Or at least my dad... mom wouldn't be so easily persuaded sadly. But the good news is....

She finally agreed to let me set it up in my room :D She said she'll just redo the floor everywhere but my room, and redo them when I move out. So for a year or so, I'm set xD Thanks for the ideas, help, and support guys! ^^ -hugs all around-

Thus, 2 weeks of drama end, (been in the middle of this the whole time[was the one that told her about the tank]) good thing she agreed huh hun? It doesn't look its best with the lighting in my garage ;) :P

I stand corrected on your gender and congrats on getting approval..
