that's true but there are not huge ones in the home aquarium. Most fish simply will not reach there full growth potential in the home. so pics of huge armatus in the wild is not what we could see in the home.

I'm wanting to see one that's over 30" in the home aquarium that was grown out there.

samurai posted one at 30".
i wonder if itll continue growing...
all we can do is provide what we can.

How big they get in the wild? I know i read somewhere like thirty lbs? But how long?

If you read through that link for seichii and the armatus He says that it's been in the tank for 10 years! so I don't think that it's going to push to much larger if it only made a THICK 30" in 10 years.

True there will always be a monster out there that for some reason grows bigger then the rest but I think that if this guy has a 30"er in a tank that's 10'x4'x3' (I think) and it's 10 years old it gives us a good starting point of the captive size of these guys.

Armatus top out at 30 inches and Odoes at 12.....

Okay Odoe expert show me a pic of an Odoe in captivity over 12 inches or even close to what they get in the wild-You rant and rave about something you don't even know about-could you please post a pic of your Odoes?
BTW-I am just stating what I feel that is what I do-I am not around the bush I just call it like it is! LOL!!

I'm NO expert. I admittingly know jack squat about any Characins....

I'm learning from the real experts right now.

Did you read the post? I said I'm learning all sorts of new things in the last month.

Pics have been posted allready in other threads. You can use the bucket they are in for size refrence (ring in bucket is 13 inches)

Pics of my Odoes will be posted up when they die. They SHOULD still be 12 inches...... :naughty:

lol I did not know it would be quite this debate.
