Well I just bought a 6" black aro.

Are you planning to do the same with it? A 6"er is not much bigger then a 3-4"er, when looking at the size of the back half of the aro.

They are sending me the biggest one they have. If it's still too small I'll have to do something else. Everyone on the ray side does not think that small of a ray could eat the aro. I'm not sure. I don't think he'd be able to jump out as everything is covered granted there are little gaps where filters go in. If he did jump out I have a rot and a pit bull plus 2 cats. He could have been a quick snack.

From my understanding the aros don't go to the bottom all that much. The rays were just put in the tank and I have not seem them go up at all.

the other thing is that it died and it stunk to the bottom and the ray covered it with sand?? is there any gap or hole on top of ur tank even if it covered? beside the hole for filter.. can u take a pic of the top of ur tanks. and maybe the MFKer can look and tell you if it did jumpout or not..

I wouldn't put it past the rays to attack, kill and eat a small aro, especially if they're already feeding well and are active and the aro goes down to the substrate.

They don't have to be able to eat the aro in one bite. They have teeth and could shred a small aro into smaller bites.

I'll take a picture of the top. I'm not sure how that the rays have been eating well. I just got them today. One has been pretty active at times while the other one is more chilled. If the aro was able to jump out, my dogs or cats had to have eaten him. I looked everywhere over and over again!

Rays have been known to eat a lot of fish. Also i thought that with a endli and aro about same size. The endli came of the bottem and ate it within 30 minutes

Here are some pictures. I only took some of the little gaps. Everything else Is completely sealed tightly.

Sucked into filter??? I had my filter without a screen one time, and one of my arowana got sucked in and died in there. I looked everywhere, and finally I tried looking in there, and lo and behold.. it was in the inlet hose.... :( I was sad for a few days, until I got another one... No more of the same mistake!!!
