time will tell

but I never really jumped on reem's hype train. I always liked him and knew what he was capable of. he brings the fight ever time he steps in the ring/cage. but of the many things he is capable of, he's also capable of crumbling.

sure he looks the part, but a lot of his impressive wins come from lower tier fighters. but as long as you're kicking arse people don't care. they jump on the bandwagon.

I never heard of the cracked ribs until now so I don't know how accurate that is. if you have a source i'd like to see it. I give him 50/50 chance in rematch with bigfoot. I really wanted him to win too, I picked him to win but I was nervous for him regardless.

I remember that story now. I don't think it has anything to do with the werdum fight otherwise they would've said something that related the two. it doesn't say that it happened during the fight with werdum. he pulled out of the next round of the tournament which was to be held in September because of the rib injury which he claims he wasn't able to train. the confirmation of the injury was proof that he actually was injured because he was getting backlash from the media and fans for pulling out.

the shady thing about the whole thing is, his team announced he was gonna fight in another event in October. so if we give him the benefit of the doubt, he needed only one month to heal

either way man, i'm really interested in seeing what he does next. I actually want him to become ufc champ. my gut tells me as long as Cain, Jr and Cormier is in the ufc, he will never get that ufc gold.

would like to see overeem fight frank mir actually. someone not too dangerous standing and someone he will be able to avoid going to the ground with.

I want to see reem vs dos santos. They hate each other and I think it would be a great fight. But who could Bigfoot fight next?

too early I think. reem would get ko'd worse

I think if they set that up they are eliminating a potential contender too soon. if I had it my way, i'd have reem fight big ben or frank mir or like someone suggested, pat barry. those are winnable fights and will be good for his confidence. if he loses to any one of them then he doesn't belong in the talks of a title run atm.

and junior is coming off a loss but I think he will decimate his next opponent and prove, like cain did, that he's still a serious contender for the title.

bigfoot can maybe rematch werdum if he beats big nogeira which I expect him to. i'm actually predicting werdum to beat nog and rematch junior for a title shot. werdum has the ground game to make a fight with cain interesting. plus his stand up has improved ten folds

What next for Cormier....haven't heard anything about him since he won that tournament?

you're behind bro. since winning the tourney he just fought in the last and final strikeforce event last month. and he's already in the ufc and inked to fight mir.

in his own words, he said something along the lines of, "Frank Mir, let's get it done in april and after that I can beat up jon jones in the fall"

since cain is the champ and they are training partners, they won't fight eachother. he wants to drop to 205 to face jones. I predict he will annihilate mir and we'll see if the ufc grants him his wish since the light heavyweight division doesn't have a clear #1 contender atm

So 2 moths ago he was mad because he didn't get first crack at junior, and now he has no chance? I hate the idea of giving guys winable fights to build them back up. Why not give him kimbo or Sylvia?

he did get his crack at junior but he lost to a drug test. that's his own fault

I've always said junior was gonna take him out anyways and after seeing his last two fights (besides the brock fight) he's not ready to take on junior or cain

it's just my opinion

but i'm telling you, reem is very marketable and the ufc was planning to cash in but since that plan was spoiled by bigfoot, I don't think they want to risk him losing 2 in a row in a violent fashion. from a business stand point you want to give him a winnable fight against a big named fighter which is why I think frank mir would be perfect. and then the fruits of the cash cow will be ripe for the picking
