and i'm happy for Sakuraba. Pride did him wrong when he got let go, and they did him wrong in the Akiyama fight. He really needs to retire but that's one OG fighter right there. I've been a fan of his since Ultimate Japan where Big John Mcarthy stopped his fight with "conan" early thinking he was tko'd and they later fought again, and Sakuraba got the armbar. That was a true 185 guy fighting a heavyweight.

With those freakshow fights with no weight limits, they really battered and broke a lot of good fighters. Guys like Sakuraba really shouldn't be fighting dudes like Rampage and even Wanderlei at the time who are true light heavyweights

He should start at the bottom even though Akiyama is good and is really not a bottom of the pole fighter at all. Wandy is 1 of my all time favorite fighters but since coming to the UFC he is 1 win and 3 losses. Lots of fighters with his record would have been cut from the UFC but since he always comes to fight and people pay to see him fight the UFC brass keeps him. BTW before he came to the UFC he lost his last 2 in Pride as well so that makes it 1 win 5 losses in his last 6 fights.

Dana's a buisiness man, and has always openly said it's not about winning, it's about going out there and giving a good show. If he's 1-6 and putting butts in seats and so many people are willing to pay to see him fight, that's what Dana's gonna go with.

It's not always about their record, it's who they are. Look at Brock Lesnar, sure he didn't deserve a title shot but look at the numbers they sold when he fought Couture. Look at the numbers that sold when he rematched Mir.

I thought he was a good fighter and pretty well known, but I was drunk when I looked at his record and I misread it. My bad. Although, it doesn't look like he's beaten many very good fighters. Guess he will get his chance to prove himself. I get what you're saying about Wand, too. He's still one of my favorites because of what he's done and how he fights.

LOL at the being drunk to misread his record

I was glued to the TV knowing he's just waiting for his opportunity. and the way he wrapped his arms around Hansen's leg along with the arm was slick. That's how he kept Hansen from getting away. As soon as Hansen made a mistake, Bam!
so, i'm not the only one :D

I haven't watched the whole fight but some of the stuff i heard was that people were kind of put off by the fact that they got stood up (for being inactive) while Aoki was in side control. People are taking that as a sign of a boring fight because he didn't take advantage of that.

Did that happen for those who have watched? (stupid work filter :irked:)

Heard Fedor's manager is trying to talk Brock and company into a unsanctioned spar that would be recorded because the fighters are in two different organizations. Not sure if it's true or just rumor. But highly doubt Fedor's camp can put enough $$ in Dana's pocket that he'd let that go down.

i would be floored if dana white would let that happen. even still, if it happens, i don't want it to be a spar like the one fedor did in his strikeforce premier. it looks almost staged.
