I am sooooo dissappointed fedor lost. He got a little wild, made an error and werdum capitolized. my hats off to werdum. I love what fedor said afterwards,......... "HE WHO DOESN'T FALL DOWN, DOESN'T STAND UP." something like that. he's got 1 more fight on his contract. would be interesting to see what happens next. i haven't been this dissappointed since Gomi lost in pride.
anyhow, Cung Le straight wooped scott smith like he stole something. he was wooping smith all night in their first meeting too until he got caught. very happy for cung. he limited his kicks and conserved himself.
happy for thompson, that fight was dope. i had him winning rd 1 and 3. even if he hadn't sank the choke i think he wouldve taken it via UD anyways.
AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE??????? Who else thinks that lady ref needs to get retrained or something? she let Finney take too much of a beating against cyborg. there was like 2 or 3 times where she could've stopped it. I was yelling at the TV, it was clear that Finney was done way before the actual stoppage. I'm surpirzed her corner hadn't thrown in the towel either. but that ref is letting fighters take way too much punishment. she did the same in the last SF event. i dont' remember the fights but she let a ko victim take more unnecessary punches while they were out before jumping in to stop. i would not want her to ref for me if i was in a fight. cyborg gave jan a beat down though. i don't know if any current 145 woman in the world can beat her.
anyways, it was a great night. the fights were all good. they seem a bit unorganized but they are still getting better as time goes by. what's with the whole Frank Shamrock retirement ceremony? does every great fighter retire like that? it's cool i guess. seemed a bit weird to me though.
