I couldn't believe Mike Budnik was on TUF. I didn't know that and didn't know he fought in the WEC until just now. I saw the dude and heard his name and I'm like sounds/looks familiar but didn't think I recognized him as a fighter and then I hear X-Games and I'm like DUH!!! He actually looked pretty good. I hope he gets a wildcard fight.

Kos is going to make such an ass out of himself on the show and then GSP's going to make an even bigger ass out of him when they fight

Not me but I still want to see GSP take it to him for talking all of that steroid trash a few months back.:D
 
gsp schooled the wrestler in wrestling last time they fought...dont see it going much different this time around. koschek is playing with fire making gsp angry. he should learn from matt hughes and matt serra. their first fight with gsp, gsp was all nicey nice to them and got beat. either way i hate koschek, he is a dirty fighter. maybe he will act like he got poked in the eye or get kicked in the head. i still blame him for the ufc getting rid of logan stanton hehe. i was surprised that mike budnik was fighting too. i used to watch the xgames and when i heard his name on tuf i thought different guy same name...wrong. i think nam phan will go far this season, but that bruce leeroy is who i am cheering for. lol
 
Most of them (professional fighters) have been on steroids or are. This shouldn't come as a surprise. There are a few high profile clean athletes, but let's face it, most get to where they are by using steroids or PEDs.

I can't believe I read that someone is picking BJ Penn over Matt Hughes. Hughes is coming off some great victories where he looked really good, and BJ is coming off several losses where he has looked terrible. BJ doesn't usually do well against high caliber fighters that are above his weight class, and really, he has looked very lackluster over the last 2 years.

Koscheck definitely loses to GSP. He's not fast enough, strong enough, nor does he have the talent to flat out beat GSP. There is always the possibility that GSP gets caught with a punch, but I find that unlikely.

I'm also amused by Bruce Leeroy. Anyone who nicknames himself after the protagonist in The Last Dragon has my vote. I hope he does well.

i keep hearing people say a lot of fighters use illegal stuff but i don't know if this is just word on the street or if there is actually a reliable source showing this is fact,..........

and about bj penn, i think bj takes this one. Matt Hughes is past his prime as well. and it's true that bj has not done well when he's fought higher than 155, but lackluster in the last 2 years??? no,.......... before he fought Frankie, which I think he won the first fight, his only loss at lw ever was to Jens Pulver way back in 2002. He's beat Hughes before when Hughes was truly in his prime. he was winning the second fight until he gassed or had the rib injury, I still dont' know what it was for sure. but bj's cardio has much improved since they last fought. And in the last two years, he's been tearing it up in the lw division beating 4 ranked contenders only losing to Frankie, which again, I felt he won the first fight but i guess that doesn't matter, it only matters to me

and matt hughes hasn't beaten a huge name at 170 since he beat gsp in their first fight which was in 2005 AND at the time, gsp was not as huge of a name and as good as he is now. sure he beat bj which is huge but bj is not a true ww. other than that, he's lost to alves and gsp x2 in his last 3 losses. but granted alves did come over weight but my point is, he's lost to high caliber fighters as well in his own division. his last 4 victories was against Ricardo Almeida, Matt Serra, Renzo Gracie and Chris Lytle. Although decent wins against decent opponents, we know those 4 are not true contenders in the ww division.

so i think Matt will lose this rubbermatch. the only thing that makes me not more confident in bj is that he hasn't been working with the moronavich (ck sp) brothers whom did not get a long with bj's people I heard. this is sad because the bj that was under the moranaviches was the best bj i've ever seen. he was not training with them in his 2 fights with Edgar,..........

This was the first link I got when I googled "mma steroid suspensions." When you add in all of the others that are rumored (doesn't take a genious to see Shane Carwin is a MONSTER), it's really quite rampant. These are just the suspensions, and not the ones who don't get caught. And let's not forget about Japan...

As for BJ and Hughes, the point I was trying to make about BJ is that he lost his last 2 against someone he *should* have beaten. He did dominate Sanchez and Florian before that and looked good, but looked AWFUL against GSP. Great against Sherk and Stevenson. However, I think he should have beaten all of those, and the only one he should have had a strong contest against was Sherk. So that's why I'm saying he hasn't demonstrated anything to me in the last 2 years. He won 50% of the fights he was supposed to. When you see him fight now, he just doesn't look like he has the heart. He has the propensity to show up and hope they fall over for him. I dunno, I was a huge BJPenn fan, but I'm tired of being disappointed in his weak hearted performances.
Hughes I thought looked good against his last few opponents except Thiago (I think Thiago is on the juice anyway). He and Renzo should have come in pretty evenly matched (they're both older and farther along in the twilight of their careers), but dominated him. I dunno, I think that last fight was pretty good (nice submission).

bj looking great against fighters at 155 that he "should" beat, is not his fault. blame the division, not bj for having guys that are not at his level. that's if I'm going by your take on it. but i think it's wrong to even say that, it shows how great he is. i think they are all rightfully ranked because they are all really the greatest in that division in the world. bj is just on another level. the only thing i agree with you is about his fights with Frankie. I felt he won the first fight and it seems he should have been able to beat him in the rematch, but frankie is truly a darkhorse. he's clearly underestimated. and it don't matter how good you are, sometimes style makes fights and someone out there will just have your #. but about his fights at ww, those are at a weight where he isn't naturally at his best. not to mention they are 2 of the best ww in mma history so losing to them isn't exactly because bj couldn't perform, it actually shows how great gsp and matt hughes is at ww.

i'm understanding your points, you are putting the blames on him, for having great fights at lw because he is "supposed" to beat them. but he had "lackluster performances" against hughes and gsp,........... i disagree because i think it shows how great he is at lw and at ww, it shows how great his competition was.

anyways, i will be willing to do an av and sig bet on Hughes vs BJ for anyone who strongly thinks hughes will take it, anyone?
 
How about Jimmie Rivera beating Abel Cullum? He looked really good.
